Which device (manufacturer, type)?

HTC Dream

Which firmware is installed?

CyanogenMod-4.2.14

What version of wireless tether are you using?

wireless_tether_2_0-pre4.apk

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I turn on wifi tethering, which asks for root approval
2. Device says, "tethering is currently running..."
3. I go onto my PC running windows 7 32-bit and look for wifi access
points, I see every other wifi access, but I don't see AndroidTether (my
SSID)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I should see AndroidTether (the assigned SSID), but I don't. When I
manually add AndroidTether it doesn't work either.

Please provide any additional information below.

My issue appears to be very similar to Issue 202.

I found the problem and a workaround...the intel wifi chipset in the lenovo t61
doesn't like the adhoc
networking of Wireless Tether... the workaround was buying a $12 Tenda Mini
11N Wireless Usb adaptr
model #W311U. Installed the driver plugged in the adapter, connected to my G1
and I was surfing in 5
min. Buying a new adapter is sub ideal but it beats USB tethering...

Or you can update to the latest driver version for the intel wireless card.
that fixed it for me.
