hp wont connect

Which device (manufacturer, type)? samsung epic

Which firmware is installed? 2.2.1

What version of wireless tether are you using? ive tried them all

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.turn on wifi tether
2.attempt to connect via hp laptop and nothing
3.get angry... then sad

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
connected with internet access... failure

ok so im running 2.2.1 custom rom on my samsung epic cause samsung doesn't have 
an official 2.2 so they 2.2 kernel supports ip forwarding. I can connect my 
wife's compac to my epic via wifi tether and i have connected my hp to wifi 
tether from a moto droid2 that i had from a previous contract. This tells me 
that 1 the epic is capable of tether and 2 the laptop is capable of tether. my 
machine is a hp dv7 1130us and has an atheros ar5009 802.11a/g/n wifi 
adapter(says my device manager). I am running windows 7 64bit. I have tried 
windows update to update my diver and it says it is the most current driver. I 
went directly to hp support site and got their most current driver. nothing is 
working. please help cause using easytether is getting old.

fixed it.. i actually had to downgrade my drivers. Thanks HP for the update to 
a pos driver... so anyone using an atheros ar5009 card.. use they hp vista 64 
or 32 bit drivers cause the windows7 ones dont work
