This is a rough translation of your code from git to hg. Although minor adjustment might be needed, it's working.

Love the idea!

Having said that, I will not merge it. I believe that having two different source control systems in this repository would be detrimental. Also, I just don't have the hg knowledge necessary to develop hg-playback in parallel with git-playback.

However, I encourage you to rename your fork to hg-playback and go from there. I would be the first to start following it! :-)
