  1. I went over all the available Github themes, and found two themes that have the navigation bar and nice design.

Minimal Theme (example <https://pages-themes.github.io/minimal/>) [This is the one we use right now.]

Leap Day Theme (example <https://pages-themes.github.io/leap-day/>)

I
Both designs look great. I think the design of the Leap Day Theme is closer to the layout of the website that you gave me (https://sites.stat.washington.edu/mmp/intransitive.html <https://sites.stat.washington.edu/mmp/intransitive.html>). The Minimal Theme has less color in it and has a very clean layout.

Let's stay with minimal for now. If later you can change the colors in Leap Year we can switch to that.

  1. Editor (link <https://wordpress.com/theme/editor>) Wilson (link <https://wordpress.com/theme/wilson>) These 2 are preferable:
Twenty Fifteen (link <https://wordpress.com/theme/twentyfifteen>) Twenty Eleven (link <https://wordpress.com/theme/twentyeleven>)

Note that some of the themes might not be able to change the default color and layout since they are designed in a certain way and for certain purposes. Please let me know if you're interested in any of these or if you want me to keep looking.

  1. Do you want me to move everything on the website (https://sites.stat.washington.edu/mmp/intransitive.html) to the new website? YES
  2. Do you want to include anything we've done for WXML in the new website? Yes, after 1.

Some updates: I've moved everything on the Intransitive web page to the new web page. I changed the title to "Rankings and Modeling Preferences", but we can change it to something else. I've tried the collapsed feature on the markdown, and it worked. But I've deleted it for now because I wanted to add the sidebar feature first before implementing the collapsed feature. I'm trying to figure out how to add the sidebar with the link and add more styles to the webpage. The web page might look a little bit strange for now.

Some questions:

I'll be working on this and update you on what's new every day from now. Hope you have a nice day! : )

Hi Cherry,

Glad to hear from you! Here are some responses:

  1. The page now seems not to have any formatting at all. You didn’t mean to have it that way, did you?
  2. You are right, there are some missing links to papers and people. Can you search them on the internet and update the links?
  3. From other.md down all the contents is junk and should be removed.
  4. The contents under Funding and Students must be transferred too
  5. Wxml: -tb answered in a next email.

Best wishes,

   Marina

Hi Marina!

  1. I've updated all the links, and now the links should work
  2. The fundings and students have also been transferred to the new page, and I also removed anything below other.md
  3. Yeah you're right. The current format is not supposed to be like this way, but I'm working on a HTML file, hopefully it will have a right format after I'm done.
  4. I was wondering if there's a zip file for GMM and MS code so that I can put on the new web and the readers can download it, because when I clicked on [Download GMM] and [Download MS], it didn't take me to the downloading page.

Thanks, Cherry

Hi Marina,

Hope you are doing well! Sorry for not making much progress lately, I was busy with the graduation and the finals. And now I'm done with school, I can devote more time to this : )

Here're some updates:

  1. navigation to the sections -- done
  2. updated the style
  3. fixed the navigation bar
  4. added News Feed and Current Project sections.

Some questions:

  1. automated way to add references/new papers -- Can you explain a little more about the automated way? is there any certain way you want me to do it? I can also write some comments to describe how to add the new references/papers.
  2. a news feed -- already have a section for it. Is there anything you want me to put into the news feed? do you want me to create a new page for the news feed? or do you think it's okay to have a news feed section at the end of the page?
  3. expand/collapse sections -- Since we have the navigation bar which can navigate to each section, do you still want the collapsible feature? if so, how do you want the collapsible features to be?
  4. For the Code and Data section, do you have GMM and MS download files so that people can download them from the website? I couldn't download the files from the intransitive website...
  5. For the Current Project section, I have the "See more details on the WXML Github Page" for now. Is there anything you want me to put in this section?
  6. Please let me know what you think about the style. Do you like the color and the font?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Hope you have a nice day! : )

Sincerely, Cherry
