FIX: Whitspace, README, reserved #7

This PR:

  1. Removes trailing whitespace from files (simplifies things a bit)
  2. Adds a little note about what IOD stands for to the README
  3. Changes 299 to reserved type as requested by @jnenonen

I'll go ahead and merge since it's straightforward, but anyone interested feel free to comment.
