Hi, cvu (https://github.com/aestrivex/cvu) has circle plots that I adapted from what MNE python had about a year ago. Since then, there are a few more features that I have created for circular figures that might be of interest to porting back to MNE python
Interactivity -- left clicking on the nodes at the edge of the circle causes only the connections to and from from that node to be displayed. right clicking the plot shows all connections.
Algorithms for removing some node names. I ran into the problem where the text for region names was not legible (either too small or overlapping other labels) when using parcellations of more than a few hundred nodes. So I wrote some algorithms to only display as many labels as were legible, but to also allow specific labels to be displayed if the user wants to make a publication figure that must include labels for both the temporal pole and inferior insula, or whatever. This may not be useful with MNE because the typical resolution of EEG/MEG data is not so high as to make this an issue, and the algorithms are rather involved.
A traitsui editor holding the circle figure. I am not sure if this would be useful.

Do these features seem like they would be useful?
