to summarize:

20120305: consistently worse 20120306, 20120323: pretty bad for about half the directions 20120331: if we could ignore one direction, things look great 20120521: all over the place

and as usual, the dominant error is in shape (not orientation)

all but 20120323 actually have worse covError than unconstrained. this to me is a sure sign something weird is going on...

of those four, all but 20120521 are among the 5 dates with the fewest trials in the intuitive session: <= 205
