dynamic view adjustment based on table #1092

Hi,

when items are selected in a table, this leads to highlighting the associated regionDisplay. I wonder if it is possible to also adjust the view's transformations (specifically a grid) to only display the selected lines. Another application would be to sort a table column leading to re-arranging the order of the grid accordingly.

Any thoughts?

I think a feature, "zoom to all selected objects" could be interesting (what would be a good name for this?).

In 3D this will not always be possible....

this would also require re-arranging the sources (like in a grid view) on-the-fly.
