French specific characters like œ are not displayed in subtitles #95

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Play a movie with .srt subtitle (ISO 8859-1 Latin1) with a "œ" character

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The "œ" character is not displayed and the word is truncated 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Movist 0.6.6 on Mac OS X 10.6.2

Please provide any additional information below.

Sorry for late reply.

Movist trys to open subtitle file with specified text encoding.
if proper text encoding is specified, subtitle will be opened successfully.
otherwise, opening will be failed and Movist will assume incorrect text 
encoding is specified
and then cut off non-ASCII characters. this is the reason some characters are 
not displayed.
(even though text encoding is not proper, opening can be succeeded. but some 
characters
may be displayed as any other characters. in this case, try other encodings.)

We don't know well about Latin language, characters or "ISO 8859-1 Latin1" 
encoding.
But, we found that "œ" is displayed successfully in "Turkish (Windows Latin 
5)" encoding
and some characters like '¿', 'á', '¡' are also displayed well.

Even though we don't know the reason and about some other characters cases,
we hope this can be a temporary solution.

It works with Turkish (Windows Latin 5), thanks !!!

French subtitles are usually encoded and displayed with "ISO 8859-1 Windows" 
(aka
Windows 1252 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows-1252) and this most common 
Western
encoding is missing in Movist. Another valid encoding to display french is "ISO
8859-15" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_8859-15) wich is also missing in 
Movist.

We found this problem is solved in "Windows 1252" encoding.
Next release will support "Windows Latin 1 (Windows 1252)" encoding.
