Persistent Onscreen Notification When Gtalk fails to connect #130

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Often happens with no reason. Usually it's when the connection drops though
2. Only recourse is to kill it and restart
3. Will not go away when Gtalk reconnects

What is the expected output?
Notification on the screen should fade out

What do you see instead?
Notifications sticks around, across all screens even when reconnecting, using
other apps, etc.

Additional informations:
GTalkSMS version = 2.1
Android OS version = 2.2
Phone model = HTC Legend

Paste GTalkSMS logs if they are relevant

@gsantos: There are only 3 Toast Messages in GTalkSMS 2.1 left:
- connection failed
- login failed
- invalid credentials
Are you talking about one of these?

Sadly this seems to be an general android bug. But still, we could try this:

Yes, i'm actually talking about the login failed Toast message. Hope you can
resolve this, really annoying. It also stays even if you reconnect the service
and it works already.

I have incorporated the fix. Setting the bug status to "Started" as I am not
100% sure if it is fixed.
Please report back if the issue still persists with the next GTalkSMS Release.

Wait for the kudos until we really know that the bug is squashed. :)
GTalkSMS 2.1.1 is out there, including the fix.
