feature request: FSSD button always performs shutdown #6

Open aerickson opened 7 years ago

I'd like it to behave like a normal power button (i.e. it should shutdown the computer when pressed whether on line power or battery). It would be great if there was an option so that I could make the daemon behave like that.

Thanks. :)

Hi,

You have it already.

However:

If you are using the UPS PIco HV3.0 HAT Stack/TopEnd you can not disconnect the cable powering as system is cable powered via Raspberry Pi micro USB. Therefor as long this cable is plug-in you have system powered (even is shutdown). If you on such condition press the F (FSSD) button fro longer than 2 secs, system will start up and will wok continually.

If such system is battery powered (preferred with high capacity) when you press F button, system shutdown and cut the power (as the cable power via Raspberry Pi micro USB is not supplied) from the Raspberry Pi. Therefore system will be completely OFF (except of RTC and some other internal task withing the PIco)

If you are using the UPS PIco HV3.0 HAT Plus and it is powered via EXP (7-28V DC), you can disconnect the cable powering. So system is full working as you would like (cut the power form the Raspberry Pi

Hope it is clearer to you now.

Please do not hesitate to ask whatever you need again.
