Item Element Defaults #40

When I create an item, it defaults with an xsi:type of 'toolbar' and an attribute for position. Can we change that to an xsi:type of 'panel' and an attribute for region? I think that would be used more often. That or have no default at all for the item element.

I've noticed the same thing and it annoys me too. There's nothing that I know of in the XSD that tells XML Spy which xsi:type to use, it's just a behavior of XML Spy as far as I can tell.

I did find out how to turn it off alltogether. Go to Tools->Options and select the Editing tab and disable the highlighted option:
