Persistent tooltips under linux/xfce #1044

Open praecipitator opened 7 months ago

praecipitator commented 7 months ago

Describe the bug

On my Xubuntu system, tooltips tend to stick around, but only after selecting an Instance from under library. Before that, everything works as expected. After selecting an instance, it looks like this: image The tooltips persist even after changing views, for example, clicking on "browse" then looks like this: image

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Modrinth
  2. Go to Library and select an Instance
  3. Hover over anything, see how the tooltips keep piling up

Expected behavior

I expect tooltips to go away as soon as the mouse leaves the corresponding area

I have no clue what was going on, but it suddenly went away on itself. Sorry.

AlxTray commented 7 months ago

This is happening to me under Wayland as well.

praecipitator commented 7 months ago

And it's back again. So, looks like, this is happening sporadically, without any clear trigger...

Person-Who-Exists commented 7 months ago

This also happens on Arch, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't

Note: don't run modrinth as root as it breaks it

AlxTray commented 7 months ago

Yeah, I'm on Arch/Hyprland and it only happens every so often, haven't figured out under what circumstances yet, just feels random. This is also not running as root.

Debian 12, running Plasma on X11, not just a Wayland issue
