c2me, one of the most popular fabric performance mods uses java 22. fabulously optimized the most downloaded modpack on modrinth uses c2me and thus needs java 22, however the default launcher doesnt install java 22 meaning you have to install it manually

I use the Modrinth app on 1.21.3 running the latest version of C2ME (0.3.0+alpha.0.337+1.21.3) all on Java 21 and with no issues.
