fix for build on centos 6

removed options unknown to tools installed using yum on CentOS 6.

I am going to merge this with the non_debian branch.

• We should check for re2c version and set the -W only if it is >=0.15 #18
• the install layout thing can also possibly be handled in a better way. #19
