For some sections with lot of documents like blogs, news sections, etc. It could be usefull to configure the way the childs will be shown ( in parent settings ). For example, if we click "news" in the tree, instead of show all its childs there, MODX should load a new page with all the documents and options to order, filter and search in a list/grid instead of the tree. I know we can make folders in the tree to organize documents, and I really love the tree view, but the "list view" can be so helpfull sometimes.

I vote for this too! It's a one of top missing features in MODX. There have been some talks in forums about it and it has been raised before, but never as a feature request.

The tree is just great but it's ideal for site structure and limited number of resources. Managing more than a dozen or so of resources in the tree becomes ineffective. I've got sections with 50+ resources, a section with 200+ static resources and I'm about to import some 1600+ (!) resources into one of sections. I'm simply afraid it will stop to work and I can't imagine working with that number of resources in the tree. It will just be unresponsive when refreshing on every save.

MODX team, please, give us a list/grid view option for child resources. This should definitely be a resource setting, affecting child resources but I think it should be possible to set in on template to, ie. a resource using that template will have its children shown in the list/grid instead of tree.

I think the list/grid could be added as a separate screen invoked with a separate command in the res' context menu. It could also be added as another tab to resource edit and overview screens. I guess a permission to see the child resources would be required.
