In some situations where the boxed typesetting of bibnamedash is not that desirable it might be nicer to have it behave more predictable (especially in terms of punctuation). This should be doable by wrapping it in \printtext. If the dash should interact with all other punctuation etc. just like the printed name, additional changes in the position of \setunits would be required.
