Crash when trying to send MMS #1108

DESCRIPTION

Tried to send a photo from the gallery button. Nada.

STEPS

  1. Tap "+"
  2. Tap Gallery Button (not camera)
  3. Chose photo
  4. Push send

EXPECTED

Send the photo.

OBSERVATIONS

I temporarily switched to another app to send my photo and it worked just fine. I'm also able to receive MMS photos with QKSMS, no issue.

Log file is attached, MMS sending attempt is at the bottom. mms send error.txt

Version 3.0.9 with MMS size set to No limit

Try setting the MMS size to 300KB, and see if that works

So... I've actually been having this issue on & off too. MetroPCS allows up to 1MB MMS. I tried to send a 650KB image and it keeps failing. Sometimes it's even a 300KB file. Sometimes if I keep deleting it and trying later, it works. Or if I make a small crop to the pic, it sometimes works.

Mine set to 1000KB limit.

Is the carrier supposed to automatically compress and/or convert the image to their maximum supported MMS file size? I'm not sure what my carrier max is.

Anyways, @moezbhatti, 300KB works, and so do the other sizes all the way up to 2000KB. "No limit" always displays the error message. I'm just going to leave it at 2000KB for now.

I too have been having this issue. I tried 300kb and all the other sizes to get a picture to send but it doesnt work. Same thing happens as original post. I am on a oneplus that was just upgraded to oreo.

Update:

My previously working 2000KB setting no longer works. In fact, I can't send an MMS photo at all now. Tried going through all the sizes again, nothing :(

Stock Messaging app sent the same photo just fine.

Currently on 3.1.2

I tried sending one as well and the app crashes. It happens whether I initially choose the camera option or gallery option. I use T-Mobile, which has a max size of 1000 kB (I think). I had my max set as 600 kB.

Currently running v3.1.2.
