Should I Answer? blocking doesn't seem to work #1817

DESCRIPTION

I've got the latest of both apps on a galaxy s10e and I can't do the basic workflow of blocking a number with Should I Answer? I'm not sure what the expected behavior should be here exactly but it doesn't appear to work.

STEPS

Install should I answer as default phone app on phone / etc Add a number to blocked list in should i answer app Just try to block an sms via Should I Answer

EXPECTED

A blocked sms

OBSERVATIONS

The sms comes through

I'm also having difficulties with this. It used to work ~1 year ago. Now it no longer works. I see in the Should I Answer app that it blocks voice calls. It doesn't report on the SMS stuff as far as I can tell. I have Should I Answer configured to block all calls from numbers not in my address book but lots and lots of SMS are getting through that should be blocked. I'm using the latest QKSMS from F-Droid on Android 12. NB: would love to be able to block by keyword!
