Not recognizing network on Android TV Box

I'm testing an "android TV" box. I have been able to test Skype video calling 
on this device and have installed a number of working .apk files.

sipdroid installs and runs, but it does not reqcognize the "wired" ethernet 
connection and therefore cannot connect/register to our sip server.

Is there a setting I can change to make this work or will it require a code 
change to support such a setup?
