Riftbound needs an initial title screen to be able to start the game. According to the Game Design Document:
Upon launching the game, players immediately dive into the world of Riftbound. They are presented with a title screen featuring a dynamic background with various game options, including starting the game, setting adjustments, and an option to exit the game and return to the player’s desktop. A brief story round-up cutscene sets the stage for the adventure ahead, illustrating the moment the protagonist became special and gained his powers.
