@kaktus621 @johnbc As you heard, many companies are switching to an open mapping service. We should take a look at OpenStreetMap.
Some examples on its usage (clean API)
Which seems straightforward. Would be nice to see if they do geocode. OSM calles it Nominatim, http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Nominatim
Would be cool if we could experiment with it!
