Just a thought: add a notification that allows a user to be notified when space becomes available in a hangout. ie when a hangout leaves the 'full' state.
I thought a simple tick box next to the full indicator would work -- 'tick for notification' Of course it is only enabled when the hangout is full and automatically clear. (Actually auto-join might be a stronger option)
