There doesn't seem to be a way to tell the build system that Snappy is 
installed in a non-standard location (e.g. in /opt/local using MacPorts).

I used this way, hope this can help
CXXFLAGS="-I ../snappy-1.0.5 -L ../snappy-1.0.5/.libs/" make
