Tmobile Tether Blocked #4

Trying to get tether working on Tmobile Note 3 & still goes to Upsell page, any suggestions?

I am not on T-Mobile, or you on T-Mobile? Can you post a screenshot? People are using it, can you make sure to disable or freeze in Titanium Backup the T-Mobile account app? And a logcat would be sweet..I believe that app is what is causing it go to the upsell page.. And it could be that T-Mobile is blocking the browser, don't use the stock browser, use alternate browser if possible (I have Chrome and AOSP browser included)

Yea I tried it with & without any of the Tmobile or Samsung bloat apps & it still would do it. Tried a new APN & nothing either. I'll send a logcat though soon as I get a chance On Feb 25, 2014 7:51 AM, "mohan_kr" notifications@github.com wrote:

I am talking about the T-Mobile My Account app do you have that running? Delete the app for now, if installed. Also the upsell page means that T-Mobile is monitoring the traffic at a high level like browser. Did you try with Chrome? or the AOSP browser? Both are included in the ROM. But first I believe you MUST delete the T-Mobile account app if you have it..I am talking about this one:

I don't have any Tmobile apps installed at all, except for the Tmobile WiFi hotspot app itself, I thought too that the my account app could be causing it so I flash the ROM again without the Tmobile or Samsung bloat & it still happened, or it will say "unable to load web page" & I've tried several different browsers on the pc. Yes, I believe that they are detecting the UA string, you would need to change that to what T-Mobile is using (can do it in Firefox and Chrome I believe). But can you confirm that tethering works by issuing ping www.google.com or some other operation that does not use the browser or http protocol. You don't need to change any APN's since I have removed the provision check APK from the ROM, it is not going to help you much.

No problems with tether yet for me on T-Mobile. Able to tether to my iPad and my window 8 laptop. Not using any agent masking on chrome. Haven't checked to see if it's eating up any of my 2.5GB free yet. But I'm almost positive I've used at least 3 or 4 GB on embryo so far. Will update if I get upsell page.

You must make sure that the T-Mobile my account app is NOT running, as I believe it is the one that monitors which bucket it goes too..
