On my criteria list pcompress almost fullfills every item. I've read in your blog that you plan to add this feature.

Do you have a branch for that?

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. This feature is in my TODO list after I release version 3.1. Currently I am doing testing for this release which will take about a month. This will also include a Windows port since quite a few people have asked for that!

Regards, Moinak.

Please consider reading the obnam manual about retention policy: http://code.liw.fi/obnam/manual/obnam-manual.en.html#forgetting-old-backup-generations

It would be nice feature in pcompress to forget very old file versions.

I am very interested in this feature also. I currently use eXdupe for incremental backups of Virtual Machine volumes and I read about Pcompress on your blog regarding incremental support. It seems like Pcompress the way you explained the implementation would work much better then eXdupe and I would like to know what the status of this feature is.

Thank you!
