What pulls a html file?
Inside the app or do you click a link?

.. as a software developer you'd think I'd come up with a better bugreport.
The downloads page now contains only "MarketEnabler_latest.html", if I download
and
open it on my G1 with 2.1 firmware it doesn't open properly.
Clicking all downloads and grabbing the latest apk works fine.

Hmmmm.... thats strange... 404 means file not found but the HTML is a static
file
that you downloaded somewhere.
After some delay it forwards to the uploaded.to page, this could be the only
point to
get a 404.
I can still access it and dot get that 404 but on my holidays in corse I was on
different hotspots where a lot of sites where not loaded but this never gives a
404
because this is a response from a server.
I will do some testing, its interesting if this is a problem of the browser on
the
phone that it can't load the file from local FS...
Which Browser did you use to download and which to open the file?

Tried again now. It opens in HTMLViewer after I click it. It now says web page
not
available.
Web page at s.2030.tk/marketenable is not available.
That works in my computers browser though, and they are on the same wireless
network
right now.

it works...

Could be because by default for me it opens in HTMLViewer, it might be more
basic and
not allow redirects etc.

I'm not sure but browsing this bug
(http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2454) seems to me that
HTMLViewer
is just for offline but not for combined offline/online stuff...
That could be a reason but I don't know

Seems likely. It did open in HTMLViewer by default for me though, so going for
that
solution might not be a good idea.
