Travis build issues are blocking PRs #116

I've noticed a buildup of PRs on this project, all being held up due to Travis's lack of support for Java 7 - it was mentioned in another issue that it may be time to migrate to something else such as GitHub Actions.

This issue could serve as a place to discuss what would be required to do that.

This maven plugin needs some help here. Best to migate to latest mojo-parent + java8

travis build removed
