The annoying theme saving issues are in principe fixed by this PR, however not when using Safari. (Chrome works fine, other browser were not tested).

Safari specific issues are:

[x] logo URL not displayed after re-opening the settings, even gets lost when re-saving the settings
[x] New lay-out is not instantly shown after adjusting and saving the settings
