Is there an existing issue for this?

Bug description

Since the latest version Molly-FOSS keeps pushing the background notification "ready to receive messages" which is kind of annoying. I could disable it, but it worked fine before. Thats why i submit this issue.

Can you please explain what the problem is? Due to Android requirements, Molly-FOSS needs to always show a notification saying "Ready to receive messages." It's also possible for another notification saying "Checking for messages..." to briefly appear. This is the normal and expected behavior.

Sure, before the update the mentioned notification appeared once after a reboot or system start Screenshot_20230627-112901.png

Now it keeps reappearing after i swipe it away. Which wasn't the case before and it definitly doesn't the need to show the notification all the time, because i did receive all messages before and Threema Libre(which has Threema Push) doesn't require the background notification as well. So for me the explained behaviour is a bug

Swiping it away won't make it disappear, because Molly will recreate the notification after some time.

You can check out the Threema Push documentation and you'll see it's the same situation as with Molly.

To hide the notification permanently, follow the steps indicated there. The notification channel used in Molly for this is called "Background connection".
