Access issue when launching game through w3m.exe

Hi, I've been trying to get this to run.

Steps:

• Clone Repo in Visual Studio
• Build using cmake release workflow
• run server.exe in build/release/artifacts
  • This works fine for now
• run w3m.exe
  • DirectX11 or DirectX12 "option" window opens (from client/resources/main.html)
  • Select only enabled option DirectX11
  • Install folder selection window opens
  • Select The Witcher 3 from steamapps/common
  • A console and game initializer open (see image)
  • The above both disappear
  • Crashdump gives the following exception: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access. on line 204 in main.cpp, in debug with mixed I get: Unhandled exception at 0x00007FF77F586688 (witcher3.exe) in w3m.exe.17384.dmp: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00007FF7A4DFDA30.
  • This happens both when and when not running as admin, when running as admin, steam does show I am playing The Witcher 3 to my friends for a brief moment.

Am I doing something wrong? Windows Defender does not block anything from running. Would really love to fix this, as figuring all this out on its own was already quite a lot of fun.

you should never run such projects as admin. they should never have to require admin privileges for anything.

please retry using the artifact from here: https://github.com/momo5502/w3m/actions/runs/9772572113/artifacts/1662517402 and upload the minidump this creates pls

Hoped it would solve the read access, you're right tho :)

I do still get the exact same error. The dump is over 25MB, so here is a WeTransfer
