Team structure should foster better company culture. If it ends up conflicting with the company culture, we should modify the team structure.
Team should be as "flat" as possible. Authority and hierarchy hinder communication and suppress innovation, therefore the team should be structured in such a way that authority and hierarchy only exist when absolutely needed.
We will have a small team at the initial phase of our company. Initial members of the team are crucial to the success of the company. Everyone has a great deal of potentials and a normal day job only exposes a small subset of them. Our company culture should encourage every single one of our initial members to exploit the potential in themselves, not only in the area of their expertise but much more.
If we can surround us with good people, then humility and respect can be the best communication tool. Transparency and honesty among the colleagues, investors, founders and customers are of vital importance, it could be our most important intangible asset in the long run. If we respect the data and facts, always prove a point not just by words but by something tangible that we can incrementally improve upon, our team will succeed and our goal will be reached.
Of course, we all have a little fire inside our heart, I never doubted that.
