A GPI anchors isn't classed as glycosylation, its a glycolipid not a carbohydrate?~ probably this is OK for disease classification because it has_parts glycosylation, but it would still be useful biologically to be able to distinguish the diseases caused by this pathway defects from those caused by other pathways like dolichol-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis
The term is useful because it groups all of the disorders connected to a single linear pathway (which will presumably have related phenotypes).

This seems like a useful grouping term. Can you describe more fully the reason for obsoletion.?
