fix for android #131

phenogrid might not function on android devices. see https://github.com/monarch-initiative/monarch-app/issues/253

@harryhoch does this relate to its use on an android tablet vs the phone? who has an android device that we could test on?

Don't really know if it is phone or tablet. You can find an android emulator as part of the SDK (http://developer.android.com/tools/help/emulator.html), but this should be low priority....

when i tested it, it was on my nexus 5 phone (lollipop).
