Two new species #102

Dear colleagues,

We may have an interesting test for the DAD-IS updates, as, following the request from some countries, we had to create two new species, namely the Mithun (id: 43) and the Gaur (id: 44).

You will find enclosed the document that link the different API. Under your request, I can ask our colleagues to generate the token for the API to retrieve the species list.

Thank you, Gregoire, I have added a few names to this issue, including Marius and Nico, who can respond.

Sound like a good test to me! @marius-mather is there anything you need my help with in the update pipeline?

franknic commented 1 year ago

Thank you, Nico Marius: I think the best way to test the incorporation of these two new species would be to try matching VBO breed-country entries with the information gathered from the "Get all breeds" API. This could be done while we work through the two questions I am about to ask in #25 to do with transboundary matching.

Given all the activity on the Classification, I thought it would be useful to include here the full list of DADIS species, including the two mentioned earlier by Gregoire in this issue. The complete list of 39 species, in alphabetical order, is: Alpaca American Bison Ass Bactrian camel Buffalo Cassowary Cattle Chicken Deer Dog Dromedary Dromedary Bactrian Camel Duck (domestic) Duck(domestic) Muscovy duck Emu Gaur Goat Goose (domestic) Guanaco Guinea fowl Guinea pig Horse Llama Mithun Muscovy duck Nandu Ostrich Partridge Peacock Pheasant Pig Pigeon Quail Rabbit Sheep Swallow Turkey Vicuña Yak (domestic)
