Updated rabbit information #90

Dear Sabrina and Katie

Xing and I have reviewed the rabbit breeds and added information in the attached document as discussed. We focused on transboundary breeds and their recognition by US, UK and German national rabbit breed organizations (ARBA, BRC, and ZDRK) and tried to identify synonyms. We suggested several new terms for breeds that were recently added to OMIA, or were recognized by one of the three national rabbit breed organization. We have aimed to suggest synonyms and include links of existing country breeds to requested transboundary terms but this may not cover all possible links/synonyms.

Thank you @ImkeTammen. I will review this as soon as possible. In the meantime, since we are adding ARBA, BRC, and ZDRK as a source, we need to add these to our documentation. Could you please write information about these sources and add them to this issue (a link to a document will suffice). Please follow the format shown here, here, and here Thank you!

Dear Sabrina - as requested here documentation about the main resources we used. In addition to information from the ARBA, BRC, and ZDRK we have occasionally included links to a range of other sources (e.g. wikepedia etc) in relation to providing sources for synonyms. I hope those do need to be listed?

@ImkeTammen I want to confirm a few things on your spreadsheet. I made a google sheet version of the .xlsx document here.

  1. what is the "do not use" sheet? Are these terms that exist and should be merged? Or is this only for you?
  2. in the "already in VBO" sheet, can you please confirm that everything in yellow is to be added ?
  3. I added a few questions in comment in the spreadsheet too Thanks!

  2. yes please add everything that is yellow in the 'already in VBO'- I have double checkedthat Xing higlighted the Orchid fields updates
