Please make Defcon Table assignment the first item of discussion, and possibly Room configuration a second or third priority item.

Please add an item Foreign Vendors, in which we list the pledges by non Monero/BCOS groups providing resources, how we can use the resources, and what those foreign vendors have been promised in return.

Please add an item Badges and Wearables, where the state of production of wearable things offered at the village is reported.

Please add an item Village Budget, in which the treasurer(s) report budget related activity and expectations. Questions and policy about our request to sell products in the village is part of this item.

Please add an item Filling Positions, in which we consider what important village staff positions have not been filled and how to do so (like a logistics coordinator.)

Please add an item Vegas Logistics, in which we discuss if there is a mailing address for equipment, how people will move about, and other such questions.

Please add an item CFP Jury Board, in which we discuss if there is a good reason to (A) publish the list of jury members or (B) not publish it.

Please add an item Photography Permits, in which we consider if we want to control access to photography inside the village (for example prohibit it.)

So:

This seems like quite a lot. Hopefully most of these topics are one line announcements.

Added; thanks for the nice and detailed list @michaesc Removed Matrix as a recommendation given the bridge seems to be causing issues since post March (only some stuff gets seen on Riot)

scottAnselmo commented 6 years ago

Added @anonimal 's item per their request in IRC and put at top given they will be offline for several days following the meeting so it's critical it get addressed this meeting so they can have enough time to make a quality submission by June 5th.

Some more discussion topics:

anonimal commented 6 years ago

Which film is a good choice if we fill time with it?

I haven't seen it yet, but seems fitting and funny: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5397194/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anon_(film) Horrible film. Incredibly boring. Good lead acting.

scottAnselmo commented 6 years ago

Added three items. Only moved the DefCon org question to the top as it was the only one that seemed time senstive. Let me know if you disagree with the ordering @michaesc as I'm pretty sure we will not get to the latter ones. Also the FAQ link is the same link as the Zoho link so I believe we'll need the actual FAQ link.

Edit: Also the 'answered' questions tab has no answers in the answer col. Are those really answered?

Low importance: Due to lack of SMS we'll be using GMRS radios/walkie-talkies to communicate between buildings. But we will need to have at least 1 person with an FCC GMRS license in each building to use them. I'll bring the radios and already have a license but we'll need another volunteer to get one.

scottAnselmo commented 6 years ago

@SRCoughlin Added should we be able to get to it.

So as I understand it we would have to have someone volunteer to hang out in the Flamingo from open to close despite having no presence there? Asking for confirmation because I think that might automatically filter out people who can depending on who is needed at Caesar and your plans and it sounds like it'll affect the volunteer's lunch plans (i.e. have to get lunch from the building or else pack it). I'm guessing there are safety reasons for that being required (e.g. relaying safety/security events in one building to the other building).

Fortunately it looks it's a quick and easy turnaround to get one. It may be more relevant to wait until early July when we should hopefully know what two days our village is happening and should know the DefCon schedule as it seems to be listed around then based on last year... in that way we can hopefully meet the requirement but still have volunteer(s) be able to hopefully attend what they want.

Moved over uncovered agenda (items 6 and onwards) to meeting on 6/9 (#234) and marked Table assignment/room config as potential items to revisit depending on what we hear back from BCOS. Meeting transcript can be found on the Taiga wiki: https://taiga.getmonero.org/project/michael-vegas-august-2018/wiki/20180602-meeting
