With @sarangNoether finishing the DLSAG technical note and the completion of thring signatures, we are now capable of most payment channel infrastructures in Monero (a fulmo network, if you will).
MRL is aware of at least one paper in preparation by external researchers describing variations on hashed timelock contracts for Monero; we need to get these descriptions compiled in a convenient place for eventual implementation.
