In my opinion, not using the payee field defeats the purpose of using a program like MMEX to track your finances. Why wouldn't you want to know who you are paying your money to and who you are receiving money from?

But anyway...

If you don't want to capture the real payee field, just create one dummy payee and use that one for every transaction.

If this was to be implemented, how would it be handled in reports? And entities?

Is the Payee field optional in the Desktop app? If not, why should it be optional in AMMEX? How would implementing this affect the Desktop app?

To me, this should get a low priority. There are better features that AMMEX needs and should get a higher priority, like #735. :-)

hi @Seif-el-din, you can achieve a similar result by setting Default Payee as Last

Settings -> General -> Default Payee Screenshot_20240327_155939
