Thought I'd tested it and worked fine, but in a demo, Alice started a chat 
with Bob. Bob tried to turn into a group chat with Alice, Bob, and Charlie.

Didn't work - a new group got created on Bob's screen, but Alice wasn't 
invited. Alice then tried the same operation, which worked fine.

Mmmm... the same steps worked for me... are you sure this sequence fails?
