no sound #2

First of all thanks for this RTCW, now I can paly again my favourite game under linux. I ve just compiled source, and copied game content from wine version, and game works extra, but one thing is missing - sound. There is no any sound in whole game, in intro, and in game. Your Linux kernel lacks both OSS support and ALSA OSS emulation (/dev/dsp: No such file or directory). You may try to compile sources from alsa branch, but it still has some problems that I cannot fix.

I don't know how to fix it because my understanding of ALSA is limited. :) alsa branch doesn't use OSS or OSS ALSA emulation at all.

See also http://alsa.opensrc.org/OSS_emulation -- perhaps, you can use alsa-oss package as alternative way for OSS emulation.

I warned you that alsa version is buggy, but it is better than nothing :)

I cannot say anything about near future, as I can't find solution for long time. Perhaps, I should seek for help in maillist of ALSA developers...
