Saddle clunking? #16

Mystery pedal/bottom-bracket noise is back. As it only seems to occur when pedalling hard and seated, perhaps it's actually the saddle?

Sprayed the saddle rails and seatpost bolts liberally with White Lithium Grease, and the clunking has now become creaking!

Starting to think the saddle may indeed be the source of the mystery noise.

Disassemble, clean, grease and reassemble.

So didn't dissemble, etc.

After the Grease spray, the saddle started titling forward and back (like it used to when I first got it). Think this actually caused me to pull a muscle in my back!

So tightened up the bolt which clamps the saddle to the seat post (using spirt level to get the desired angle back again). Saddle no longer tilts, and also the creaking has gone :)

Still a bit of noise when going over bumpy terrain, which I think the saddle is contributing to.

It wouldn't be hard to justify a complete saddle and seat post upgrade, as the current setup is pretty basic, and relies over over tightening nuts and bolts to prevent slippage of height and angle.

But this one can be closed.
