I think the remembering settings is a widespread bug. I was just changing the simplest saver - message - and it took a few attempts to change from one word to another.
so is this a Sonoma problem? I should have the same problem with other screensavers if this were the case but I have a couple others and they don't have this type of problem, I don't know
I am having a problem with this screensaver now in Sonoma also that it takes up an enormous amount of memory / cpu (via legacyscreensaver) - I didn't have this issue before
+1 I love this...but on Sonoma it uses so much power it can confuse the OS scheduler.
You can force update the settings by killing the legacyscreensaver process (using activity monitor or other means)
I am runnig OK on Sonoma 14.2.1
I am runnig OK on Sonoma 14.2.1 yes but it consumes a lot of energy
I'm still here using the screensaver on sequoia, despite all the known problems. I only use it on an iMac Pro, but on my Macbook Air M3 laptop I had to uninstall it due to the usual problem with the "legacyscreensaver" process. However, I noticed that the "Fliqlo" screensaver also uses this process extensively despite being updated for Silicon macs and the latest systems. Beyond version 1.1.4, which should be updated to solve the problems, I wonder: Are we sure that the "legacyscreensaver" process is actually a problem? Is it really harmful to the mac? I ask this because in the activity monitor the memory indicator always appears green even if it uses a lot of resources... I don't want it to be just my obsession and maybe the screensaver can be used without any problems. I haven't noticed any drastic drops in battery life, for example. Tell me what you think!
In the meantime I'm waiting for a new update... this for me is the best matrix themed screensaver on mac!
yeah, this bug is very noticeable. I'm always killing the legacyscreensaver process
Hello and congratulations for this splendid screensaver. I would like to inform you that after some tests on two different machines (imac pro and mac book pro) both with sonoma, the screen saver works but maintains the last recorded settings even after having changed them. If I make any option changes, they show up in the little preview icon in the settings panel but don't appear right away when I activate the screensaver or when I press "preview" on the little icon. Restarting your computer or waking it from sleep causes the screensaver to update its options. I hope it can be resolved in the future.
Proposal for new functions: I'll start by saying that your screensaver is my favorite of its kind as it is simple and customisable, there are some things I would like to suggest to you:
1 - Possibility to adjust the scrolling speed of the glyphs 2 - Possibility to set the binary and hexadecimal code instead of the matrix glyphs :)
Thank you so much for the work you do
