Old Themes seem to have problems with the 3.x version #347

I'm desperately trying to get the simple-apps theme to run on the new system.

At first the menu was all messed up. I found out that by simply cut and paste of the relevant block I was at least able to see the menu as usual. As far as I can tell I think the problem lies with the new 3.x version here. But I'm not sure how exactly this behaviour can be explained.

After that I can see the menu, but from the website source I can see that the whole class header:

is missing. Also the menu header is not staying on top of the site as it should be.

I tried to contact the author of this theme, but it seems that the guy who wrote an awful lot of plugins and stuff has vanished completely together with his website.
