need a development server #113

Pablo - where is the domain registered? I'd like to set up dev.pageonex.com as a development site we can push to for you/others to do development testing. We can host this on one of our servers if you'd like, but would need you to setup the subdomain resolution to our IP. Lemme know what you prefer

I'll step by the office or call tomorrow morning to decide what to do. I have the domain registered at gandi.net. Hosting in one of c4 servers sound like a good idea.

To which IP should I redirect?

Two options

  1. redirect the entire domain to our server by changing the DNS to ns1.linode.com, ns2.linode.com... all the way up to ns5
  2. point the specific subdomain (ie. dev.pageonex.com) at our server's IP: 198.74.62.7

I have the home at pageonex.com, I take option 2. I pointed dev.pageonex.com to 198.74.62.7, maybe does it take some time to propagate?

That's not quite right. You directed the subdomain to forward to our IP... that won't work. You need to set up the DNS to resolve that subdomain to your IP. Subtle, but important, distinction. If you have trouble finding that option, you can add me as a technical manager on the domain so I can try to do it (our C4 gandi.net account name is RB4666-GANDI).
