Which version of ForumNG are you on? Are you definitely on the latest MOODLE_28_STABLE branch for ForumNG? https://github.com/moodleou/moodle-mod_forumng/tree/MOODLE_28_STABLE
We have it running in a variety of Moodle 2.8 & 2.9 sites without issues currently, this message seems similar to a couple of old issues #41 & #43 which have been resolved.

Hi I upgraded my moodle to 2.8.8 from 2.5/ I don"t know if this couse the problem I have now.
