S/PDIF Loop Not as designed? #22

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set S/PDIF input to loop to output
2. Click apply

What is the expected output? What happens instead?
Expected: S/PDIF input will play looped through. When not in use, S/PDIF
output will be from PC.

What version of the driver are you using? On what operating system? What
version of the operationg system are you using (32 or 64 bit)?
Vista CMIDriver-1.2.0-bin-x86.zip

What ports of the soundcard are affected by the bug (e.g. SPDIF, Mic-In)?
SPDIF in/out.

Please provide any additional information below.

Additionally, input doesn't seem to loop through properly without selecting
the alternate spdif input.

I'll have to check myself when I've got some free time - I'm unfortunately
pretty
loaded at the moment.

At least an option switch for cmicontrol to toggle between loop on / off would
be great!

In reply to #5 - any option to 'toggle' it that could be bound to a keyboard
shortcut
so I can put it on my media center remote would solve this issue for me :)

I made temporarily toggling application with AutoIT Script. The only downside
with it
is that it flashes CMI Control panel. It works on Vista, at least.

I'd guess that I'll manage to free enough time for releasing a new version with
a
switch for cmicontrol in six weeks time.
The source code of the driver and the application is freely available, and the
applications should build with a standard win32 C compiler - you're free to
implement the stuff by yourself and send in a patch.

Any time you can free would be awesome dogber1 :-) I'm no programmer (I've
done some
C#...) but I might give it a go to see what I can figure out...see if C makes
any
sense :)

this is still an issue. Test setup using 1.2.1-WaveRT

out from TV, in to sound card, out to receiver.
Settings Enable SPDIF Recording, select secondary spdif in, loop spdif in to
spdif out.

It causes the computers sound to be muted (or blocked out?) but the TV works
just
fine. Unchecking spdif loop restores sound to PC.

that's to be expected - there's no way to detect what S/PDIF stream is active
and
what isn't. Manual switching is still required - the only thing I added is the
additional switch.

Thank you dogber1 :) In fact I thought too that toggling would be automatic but
it's
ok, the switch is enough for me!

What additional switch? Maybe I'm blind but the UI in the control panel looks
the
same to me...
