CMI8738-MC6: Mic-In capture seems not to work #23

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
insert trust 514dx in pci slot
2.
install cmedia genuine whql driver, get bluescreen
3.
install oss driver and be happy
4.
configure mic for ekiga/skype
5. 
silence at the callee

What is the expected output? What happens instead?

What version of the driver are you using? On what operating system? What
version of the operationg system are you using (32 or 64 bit)?
xp32sp2

What ports of the soundcard are affected by the bug (e.g. SPDIF, Mic-In)?
mic-in

Please provide any additional information below.
no clue, no ddk here, no visual studio license ;)
mic in works under linux.

well, ok, this issue report is from telephone support for a female friend and I
always read small FAQs. I think we were thru with that but will double check in 
a few
days. she's at holidays.

but if You tested Yourselves mic-in capture already working, pls close, thank 
You :)
can others confirm that mic-in works for this chip?

it does work - the most common error is that the +20 dB boost is disabled to 
the 
effect that the mic input is almost unhearable.
if you still can't get it working, please drop me an email or write another 
posting 
here.

+20dB was checked already and using 2 diff. headsets.

i will report if the spdif-in recording solves it. thx again.
