I've tried to reproduce the error unsuccessfully. If AC3 works, dts should work
as well because the formats'
handling is not that much different in the code. I suspect a misconfiguration
of your receiver - please confirm.

I'll retry later this week hopefully - Taking my Unit operations lab course and
I'm
pretty busy. I looked briefly through the receiver settings but didn't see
anything.
Weird thing is it worked the day before on the beta doing DTS but when I installed
RC it started acting up. Like I mentioned before, I ran into the problem
originally
with the beta but I ended up getting around it somehow.
Thanks for looking into it for me - I'll report back with my findings and
*hopefully*
a solution later this week.

Just spent 30 minutes trying to figure it out. Nothing. Dolby Digital works
fine,
DTS is being difficult...

I've tried it on Win 7 x64 RTM and it just works out of the box.

Which build is RTM? Does RTM load with a RC key? Was this with WaveRT? I'll
try it
out and report back...

build 7600, I didn't specify a key (it installs and runs for 30 days without),
and I've chosen the regular version.

I'll try build 7600 with non-waveRT hopefully on Wednesday (maybe tomorrow if
I'm
lucky). I'll let you know if it works.
BTW - What exactly is the benefit of WaveRT vs regular?

for the sake of it, I've tested the wavert version in 7 RTM as well - it works
just
fine.
there is extensive documentation at msdn outlining the wavert stuff. for the
end
user, the differences are marginal.

I downloaded build 7600 but have yet to have time to test. Finished our last
report
and presentation for Ops class today, so I should have it tested pretty soon.

Installed build 7600... installed 1.2.6... still can't get DTS to work, but DD
is
working perfectly. I'm beginning to believe the receiver is the culprit, but
I'm
really confused as to why it worked while I was using the Beta.

I'm running vista 64 sp2. using your wave-rt drivers. I can play DTS music only
if i
use foobar using WASAPI . If i try using any other way all i get is the
receiver
switching to DTS but no sound play's. foobar looks like it's playing the file
normally. I tried monkey audio samething.
I need it to work with out WASAPI ..is this possible ?

Thanks for the post gglt, reminded me to update.
Turns out that it works now... although the Windows DTS test doesn't actually
work,
using AC3 Filter and setting the DTS setting to "wrapped" works...

gglt.., that's because you're trying to play DTS sounds which have been
embedded into a wave file. The
audio service of vista alters a few bits of the stream and corrupts it. hence,
a bitperfect interface such as
WASAPI is required.
s.waites, thanks for the update - this gives me at least some kind of clue. You
have to be patient for
another six weeks at least for an update though - I am currently in the midst
of something.

s.waites, I'm having the same issue with the Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM and
1.2.6 of
this driver. DD seems to play fine but when I select a movie that only has a
DTS
track, I get nothing. If I reimage the computer as is with Vista Ultimate x86
and
choose the same movie file, everything works fine with DTS. It's definitely not
the
receiver. Could be something new in Windows 7?

wfiel - Are you using AC3 Filter when you play your movies?

s.waites - Well, I'm trying to have the "cleanest" setup possible without the
aid of
other components. Under Vista, I only installed this driver and selected SPDIF
as
the default with 96kHz as the output and everything worked fine as long
as "Exclusive" mode was selected under the Windows Sound Control Panel. In
Windows
7, I'm following the same setup and it's not working. I can however, switch
back to
my Windows Vista image where everything is working fine! I doubt it's anything
specific with this driver; maybe something in Windows 7 but I can't "put my
finger
on it."

I'm having a similar issue I think. I have some DTS wav files that used to play
fine in XP. I've since
installed windows 7 64 bit and they no longer work. Using media player classic
64 bit, sometimes I get
static and sometimes I get silence. The receiver usually says DTS when I get
silence. Using the control
panel tests Dolby digital works, but I don't hear anything for DTS. All the
frequencies seem to work.

for vista and 7, you need to use something to bypass the audio service, e.g.
foobar2000 with kernel streaming and the non-wavert version of the driver.

Thanks for the really quick response. That's unfortunate that the Windows 7
Audio
service won't allow for direct pass through of DTS. At least there are some
players
that will still work.
