Volume Slider Inconsistencies.

What soundcard to you have (make, model, chip)?
Diamond Xtreme 7.1 CMI8768 (the version with the coax digital outs, no optical)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Right click Speaker icon in the taskbar, go to Playback Devices
2. Go to the Analog Output of C-Media Device.
3. Go to Levels Tab.
4. Observe the Main Level
5. Click the speaker icon in the taskbar again. In the volume slider, move
it down completely. 
6. As you move the volume slider up slowly, you'll notice that the Number
that shows up is 1 off from the one indicated in the Level tab of the
device settings.

What is the expected output? What happens instead?
Both volume readouts should be the same. They differ by one up to volume
setting 15. 
No real problem with this, I just thought it would be something worth
reporting in case it has some further problem that I don't seem to notice. 

What version of the driver are you using? On what operating system? What
version of the operating system are you using (32 or 64 bit)?
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

What ports of the soundcard are affected by the bug (e.g. SPDIF, Mic-In)?
Analog Line Out, as far as I know. 

Please provide any additional information below.

In the right image, that's the normal volume I listen to stuff at. Yes,
apparently my soundcard has a hot output or my headphones are sensitive.
When it goes up to 15, they both become the same, all the way up to 100.

And I know this is irrelevant from my reported issue, but the Wave Mute
button doesn't work. I read a FAQ about how the mute button doesn't work,
and I was assuming that it was the main mute button on the top (or in the
little popup when you click the speaker icon), but not sure if Wave Mute is
the same identical button.

mrairplaneman777, this is basically a rounding-off error caused by the coarse 
division of the soundcard mixer. The 'official' driver hides this just by 
having the volume set to maximum at all times and attenuating the input stream 
by means of digital signal processing.
In the end, it's just an optical annoyance.
